Update: SEC Launches Project Crypto 

On August 5, 2025, SEC Chairman Paul S. Atkins unveiled “Project Crypto,” a sweeping Commission-wide initiative to modernize securities regulation and help America become the global hub for crypto innovation. The campaign directs staff to quickly craft clear, on-chain-friendly rules around crypto asset distribution, custody, trading, and tokenization — all aimed at reviving US leadership in the digital asset economy.

Update: Acting Chairman Pham Announces CFTC Crypto Sprint

Acting Chairman Caroline D. Pham has officially launched the CFTC’s “crypto sprint” to fast-track implementation of recommendations from the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets. The initiative aims to provide regulatory clarity and spur innovation in digital asset markets — working in tandem with SEC’s Project Crypto to usher in what Pham calls a new “Golden Age of Crypto.”
