The staffing challenges caused by COVID have fueled continued efforts to find ways to provide patient care without risking exposure. Providers saw nurses and doctors go from providing care to being a patient in the same shift. Hospitals battled each other for nursing coverage and struggled to cover shifts when the hospital was at full capacity. In response, we have seen the explosion of telehealth services, but we have also seen vending machine style points of care as well as the type of robotic technology highlighted in this picture. The impact of this pandemic on healthcare innovation will be felt for years to come.
